Yay! It's finally here!
Today, The Brown girl with Long Hair blog is being featured on The SITS Girls, a web site which serves as a fabulous, supportive resource for female bloggers, so I'd like to take a moment to welcome everyone...including my "SITS-tas"!
I’m Courtney, a wife, mother, and blogger also known as The Brown Girl with Long Hair. I'm so glad you are here! I've written the following bio, which contains links to previous posts I have written, so that you may get to know me better...
In 1991, my husband, Scott, was drafted into the National Football League and blocked for Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders for nearly seven years as an offensive lineman for the Detroit Lions. Together we are the
proud parents of one son, nearly three-year-old Scotty, Jr. and one daughter
– ten month-old Kennedy. (My deliveries were like A Tale of Two Cities.) At the risk of sounding nauseatingly cheesy, I think The Hubs is the best dad in the world.
We were married on 07-07-07 and recently
celebrated our seven-year wedding anniversary. We're basically homebodies, but once in a great while we escape without the kids, and when we do, our nights out are a little over the top. You can read about two of our most recent episodes here and here.
Yes, I’m an NFL wife…but not in the way
you might think. I love blogging about cheap cashmere, all things hair, as well as my embarrassing moments and peculiar situations.
I DON’T love folding laundry, refilling
the toilet paper rolls in this house, and things that set me off, like inconsiderate people.
In my BC life (Read: Before Children), I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Michigan and went on to become a CBS television reporter and producer and auto show model. Now I’m a SAHM, freelance writer, certified
yoga instructor, and regular contributor to the Chicken Soup for the Soul book
series.
I publish a new post here every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but you can also occasionally catch me elsewhere on sites such as BlogHer, USA Football, Scary Mommy, Mamapedia, Mamalode, Blunt Moms, and as a guest columnist for Gannett's Observer & Eccentric Newspapers.
