"I Have heat damage?!? Now what?"

Honestly?

Of all the challenges I've experienced on this roller coaster also known as my natural hair journey, this—THIS—was by far the absolute worst:

After having washed and thoroughly conditioned my hair, I step out of the shower and look in the mirror—fully prepared to encounter the reflection of a perfectly curly head of hair when what I see totally takes my breath away.

And not in a good way.

Rather, what I saw physiologically registered as a punch in the gut:

Overall, my curl pattern was remarkably irregular; parts of my hair were stick straight, even.

Why?

Because of heat damage.

Because years and years of repeated blow drying and flat ironing had wrecked irreversible damage on nearly 97% of the strands on my head.

Watch the video below as I explain in further detail...

CORRECTION: In this video I mistakenly stated that I began my natural hair journey in 2005. I meant to say 2015!

My advice to you: Bookmark that list; print it out and carry it in your purse!

The list is immensely helpful, particularly if purchasing curly girl products is uncharted territory...
